Q.  I have my own brushes, makeup or products. Do I still need to pay for a kit?

A.  Due to sanitary concerns, we do not allow outside products into the school. However, you may bring your own makeup brushes

Q.  What should I do next if I am interested in enrolling?

A.  If possible, we encourage you to visit our school and meet with one of our staff.  At this time we can answer any further
questions you may have, including the enrollment form and payment options for your desired course(s). If you are not able to visit
us in person, due to scheduling or you are a travelling student, we ask that you fill out the enrollment form and submit it back to us
with your deposit to hold your spot.

Q.  How can I pay for my tuition costs?

A.  We ask that you visit us at the school, and at that time, we can discuss your payment options.  LaCalisto Academy accepts
tuition payment in cash, certified checks/money orders, or Visa/MasterCard.  In the instance that you are unable to visit us until
your first class date, we require you to pay your deposit in advance to hold your spot and once we have received payment, we will
notify you of your course details.  The remainder of your course fees are due on the first day of class.


Q.  Do you help graduates with job placement?

A.  At LaCalisto Academy, we believe in each of our graduates, and when employers of businesses are in need of an artist or team
of artists for an event, we only refer and recommend our artists.  We also help give the tools to each student while enrolled at
LaCalisto Academy to prepare a resume, make business cards, design a website and develop a professional portfolio.

Q.  What kind of money can I make as a Makeup Artist?

A.  The quality of your work and your commitment to excellence are the two deciding factors in how much you will be able to quote
and demand for your work. It can also depend on which industry you choose to focus on, beauty or film.  The cosmetic retail
industry is the entry level for many makeup artists and can averages from $15 - 35 per hour, depending on the company and can
also include variable commissions.  Bridal makeup application can vary from $40 - 150 per person, depending on the artist’s
experience and physical location.  A freelance gig for a group for women requiring makeup for an event can vary from $40 - 100
per makeup application.  Production work is usually paid by a “day rate,” which can average between $350 - 1000 per day for
video, print and runway work.  Film work can pay between $350 - 800 per day, with overtime pay possible.


Q. What jobs are available as a Makeup Artist?

A. Our graduates will find a vast amount of employment opportunities in several different areas of artistry, depending on their
interest.  Some past graduates have chosen to enter the field of cosmetic retailing, which offers a great chance to start building
your makeup kit with products and learning to apply makeup on several faces a day.  Others will find that they are better suited for
freelance work, with an emphasis on bridal makeup, or with the possibility of working with a dermatologist and/or plastic surgeon
office with clients that are looking for beauty applications.  Another common option is to work with photographers, models, or
designers applying makeup for their print advertisements, fashion magazines, music videos, and/or runway shows.  And finally,
some artists will enjoy traveling as a professional beauty consultant or applying makeup on celebrities or affluent clients.
